When you hear cycling, stacking, or pyramiding, chances are they are being used to refer to the different methods or patterns of taking steroids. Depending on your goals and the current body type you have, different methods are recommended to achieve the best possible effect.
Cycling Steroids
As one of the most basic and well-known methods of taking steroid, cycling puts users on a schedule and pins down exact dates of what they want to achieve as an end result and when. It also plans for the future after than in when they want to be steroid-free when they are being tested (usually for athletes).
Cycling is an on-and-off strategy that is primarily used to avoid the diminishing effects of steroids after they’ve been continuously taken for around two months, causing tolerance to build up. When this happens, muscle gain can start too slow, and other side effects can start emerging. Cycling requires a plan as you’ll be deciding how long you want to take the steroid for and how long you’ll be taking a break for before getting back on it again.
A cycle can range anywhere from a few weeks up to several months of usage, followed by a period of hiatus with either no intake at all or at a drastically reduced dosage. The length of a cycle will depend on your previous experience with steroid, the type of steroid you’re taking, and the goals you are looking to achieve.
Stacking Steroids
Users who are experienced with steroids may consider stacking. True to its name, this means combining multiple types of steroids at once for a mix of effects. Combining two or more steroids that each have different actions or effects on the body is one way of attempting to achieve a much more powerful result. However, if you aren’t careful, the side effects can be much more costly. This method of taking steroids is generally not recommended for beginners unless under the guidance of an experienced friend or coach.
One of the most prominent steroid stacking strategies is to stack a short acting steroid with a longer acting one, or to combine oral and injectable steroids together.
Pyramiding Steroids
Just like the shape of a pyramid, this method of intake lets you start off with a small dosage, taking more and more each time, eventually peaking at the tip of the pyramid then gradually settling back down. With this method, your peak dosage will be somewhere near the middle of the cycle.
Unlike cycling where you might suddenly stop all usage of steroid at the end of a cycle, pyramiding allowed you to slowly taper off. One of the main reasons users choose the pyramid method is to help adjust to higher doses while trying to avoid overloading the natural hormone system of the body and giving it time to readjust when the dosage is lowered in the second part of the pyramid.
