Let’s get something out of the way. Contrary to popular belief, taking testosterone before a session won’t allow you to lift double your weight, at least not right away. The progress will be apparent, but won’t be instantaneous.

The unique properties of anabolic steroid allows your muscles to heal much faster than they usually would. Whether you’re currently on a steroid cycle, or off, you should be training either way. While you are on gear, you will notice your recovery substantially improving. Your muscle heals faster and will need less down time between sessions. This applies not only to post-session recovery, but also the rest time between sets. A particular exercise that you would usually be only able to fit 5 sets into now becomes 8, or even 10.

This is going to allow you to fit much more into your workouts, and see results much quicker since you’re getting “shredded” at almost double the speed. While this won’t allow you to lift double your usual weight, it will make your workouts much more explosive and efficient. Most guys will find they can do two intense workouts a day and fit a week’s worth of workouts off gear into a few days while on gear.

How About Different Workouts?

It doesn’t really matter what type of workout program you’re doing – from bench press, specific training, to push-ups and even cardio, you can expect more explosive power and endurance, and able to add on additional reps and sets than you normally would be able to.

With that being said, trying to pull off too much weight is a common mistake for new anabolic steroid users. The urge to add on extra plates will be strong, but keep in mind your ligaments will be lagging behind while your muscle sees explosive growth. You will be at a great risk of injury if you don’t adjust to the weights gradually. Experience with more weight by all means but do so while being smart with your limits.

Certain compounds are exceptional at offering enhanced healing, such as Deca, but no compound will make you immune to new injuries.
