Arimidex is a known anti estrogen agent. It is an extremely powerful compound that belongs to the aromatase inhibitor (AI) family. It was developed in the early 1990’s. In 1995 Zenaca Pharmaceuticals released it under the trade name Arimidex. It is the most commonly used AI on the market. Many anabolic steroid users will use Arimidex to block the estrogenic side effects that commonly accompany steroid use. All steroids that aromatize into estrogen need to be used with an AI. The way it works is that it blocks the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for the production of estrogen.

Using Arimidex will help to block the estrogen associated side effects that come along with steroid use. The usage of arimidex will also stimulate the release of Luteinizing Hormone, and follicle stimulating hormone. These two hormones are needed for natural testosterone production. AI’s are best used during a cycle, as opposed to A SERM treatment like Nolvadex which is best used at the end of a users cycle, as a post cycle treatment (PCT).
