Humulin is a brand of human insulin manufactured by Eli Lilly. It’s available as regular (short-acting) insulin, NPH (intermediate-acting), and premixed formulations (e.g., Humulin 70/30, which combines NPH and regular insulin). Humulin is synthetic human insulin (not an insulin analogue).

Main clinical uses

Main Bodybuilding Use:
Humulin R (Regular insulin) is sometimes used post-workout because it has a slightly slower onset and longer activity than rapid insulins. Bodybuilders use it to shuttle glucose and amino acids into muscle cells after intense training, promoting glycogen replenishment and muscle recovery.
